Thank you for your continued support, and stay tuned for more inspiring stories that illuminate the path to your greatest aspirations!

Food Inc, 2. (2023)

Food Inc, 2. is an eye-opening documentary that delves into the complex world of food production, offering a fresh perspective on the challenges faced by farmers and workers in bringing food to our tables. The film features a diverse panel of experts, including nutritionists, environmentalists, and food industry professionals, who collectively aim to raise awareness about the pressing need for change in our current food system.

By showcasing the compassion and hard work of farmers and workers, Food Inc, 2. encourages viewers to rethink their food choices and consider the broader impact of their decisions. The documentary also explores alternative methods of producing meat, such as lab-grown meat from real cells, as a potential solution to the unsustainable practice of mass farming, though this approach may not be for everyone. I know personally I wouldn’t eat it.

An essential message conveyed by Food Inc, 2. is the importance of fostering a more intimate connection with local farmers. By choosing to buy from local sources whenever possible, we not only support our community but also contribute to a more sustainable and ethical food system. This shift in mindset allows us to better understand the stories behind our food, appreciate the hard work of those who produce it, and ultimately make more informed choices for our health and the environment. This documentary serves as a compelling reminder to prioritize local, ethical, and sustainable food sources whenever possible.

You can watch Food Inc, 2. on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, YouTube or Hulu, and we encourage you to share your thoughts and insights with us at info@listeningtosmile.com after viewing. This documentary provides an invaluable opportunity to learn and grow in our understanding of the food industry and its implications for our health, environment, and society.

Introspection Question: How might you take action to make more mindful food choices that support local farmers and contribute to a more sustainable and ethical food system? Be specific and take action.

Inside Out 2 (2024)

Have you seen Inside Out, the original movie? It was absolutely fantastic! The heartfelt story of a young girl navigating her emotions truly resonated with audiences of all ages. It reminded me so much of Parts Work which is a therapeutic approach that works to understand the different parts of self.

Now, let's talk about the much-anticipated sequel, Inside Out 2! As Riley enters her teenage years, life becomes a larger rollercoaster of emotions (Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui aka boredom emerge). The story picks up with Riley at 13, experiencing significant changes such as starting her period – do you ladies remember how it felt when you first experienced that? On top of that, her two best friends are leaving her, adding to the emotional turmoil.

This movie delves into the complexities of growing up and reminds us of the challenges we faced during our own childhoods. As adults, we sometimes long for the simplicity of youth, forgetting how intense those times could be. Life can be stressful at any age, and it's essential to acknowledge the emotional resilience we develop as we mature.

The star-studded cast, featuring returning voices like Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, and Lewis Black, as well as new additions Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, and Paul Walter Hauser, delivers an engaging performance that drives home the importance of self-discovery and growth.

You can watch Inside Out 2 on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, YouTube or Apple TV.

Introspection Question: Reflect on your own emotional journey throughout your life – how have your emotions evolved, and how might acknowledging and understanding these emotions help you navigate future challenges and personal growth? Be specific and take action.
